The French Laundry is an epic culinary experience to what Anthony Bourdain has called “the best restaurant in the world, period.”
For over 40 years Thomas Keller’s legendary Yountville, Napa destination has remained the pinnacle of the fine California dining experience, topping every foodie’s bucket list. Chef Keller continues to pair incredibly classic French techniques with wildly fresh ingredients and fine wines in a setting that is a perfect storm of restaurant greatness— the dining experience you brag about for the rest of your life. From their website:
“The French Laundry’s wine program is characterized by the breadth and depth of its offerings and has held Wine Spectator’s Grand Award since 2007. On our wine list, one finds bottles from all of the world’s major grape-growing regions. Within each region we feature the most famous brands, hard-to-get cult wines and also some little-known gems. Each one of our bottles tells the distinctive story of its origins—the soil, the winemaker, the style, the grape, the vintage—and is selected for how those characteristics distinguish it from other wines on the list.”
In 2014 The French Laundry’s wine list was awarded The World of Fine Wine’s highest rating.
From the World’s Best Wine Lists article July 8, 2014:
“We make nearly all of our purchasing decisions based on the character and quality of the wines and how they will support the cuisine. Through a rigorous selection process, the result is that we favor wines of balance and complexity, with the appropriate structure to pair well with food.”
As of Monday, June 24, 2019, The French Laundry adds Sill Family Vineyards’ 2015 Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon to its wine menu.
